Dives in Tabarca

All the dives that we did in the Island of Tabarca are guided by an instructor knowledgeable about the area and the depths vary between -6 and -56 meters. We have bottles of nitrox, recommended 100% for the dives to more than 20 meters deep, because it’s supposed to lengthen the time of the dives.

Scuba DIVE IN THE MARINE RESERVE OF TABARCA ISLAND

In the points of immersion within the reserve of Tabarca Island, the depths can vary from -10 to -30 meters. Depending on your level we will do a dive or another.
The marine reserve of Tabarca Island extends in a rectangle around the island, divided into two areas:

The snorkel allows you to be with your head under the water and breathe through the tube for long periods of time without losing track of the fish that surround us.

Inland waters

Refers to the first half which is located closer to the coast, where you will find the dives Held Negre, artificial Reefs, The Galley, Escull Roig and Free Waters.

When you can dive in inland Waters of the Reserve of Tabarca Island?

In this part of the Island of Tabarca you can dive all year round. From October 1 to March 31, you can dive on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. From April 1 to September 30, you can dive on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays

Outer waters

Refers to the second half which is located farther from the coast, where you will find the dives of The Nao, South of la Llosa -24 and -28 (more commonly known as Merolandia).

When you can dive in the Waters outside of the Reserve of Tabarca Island?

In this part of the Island of Tabarca you can not dive in the month of January. In the month of March and from October to January 6, you can dive on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. And the rest of the months from April to September, you can dive all day.

To be able to dive in the Marine Reserve of Tabarca Island, are no longer necessary paperwork prior to a week in advance, but if it is necessary that we book a place in advance, as they are limited.

The documentation required to dive in the Marine Reserve of Tabarca Island is:

  • Scuba diving licence

  • ID

  • Diving insurance

    (you can make the same morning in the center).

  • All of the documentation listed is required physically on the day of the dive

Anchor

With a depth from 32 to 38 metres, where to find yellow sea fans and an anchor ancient of more than six meter long, plus anemones giants and other life.

  • Immersion outside the marine reserve Island of Tabarca.
  • Advanced level.
  • The dive consists of a visit to an area of rocks that form a large square, ranging from -36 to -31 meters deep, with the peculiarity that in the top, there are a lot of entacmea fouling yellow. You can also find more loose rocks on the background between -36 and -40 meters of depth and perched on one of them, an anchor ancient of more than 6 meters long.
  • Fauna: Different types of gorgonians, yellow and white (very nice), anemones, pollack, escórporas, moray eels, octopus, nudibranchs, banks, hamstrings, mojarras, castanets, cigarrones, etc
  • Flora: large ceriantos, etc,
  • For the depth, it is recommended that the use of nitrox to extend the time in the background.

Artificial Reefs – Reservations Interior Tabarca

Immersion was located within the marine reserve Island of Tabarca, inland waters.

  • Medium level.
  • The descent is made from the buoy mooring.
  • Background of sand with silt very fine, where there are four squared structures in the form of a tower, of about 6 m approx. long side and of different heights, in addition to three sunken ships of wood of about 20m long.
  • Depth of -20 to -24 meters.
  • Fauna: Different types of gorgonians, yellow and white anemones, Escórporas very large, moray eels, conger eels, octopus, nudibranchs, banks skewers, hamstrings, mojarras, castanets, etc
  • Flora: Posidonia.
  • For the depth, it is recommended that the use of nitrox to extend the time in the background.

Boat Cardi

Immersion outside the marine reserve Island of Tabarca.

  • Advanced level.
  • Dive into the remains of a sunken ship of wood on a background of sand of fine sediment.
  • Depth of -32 meters.
  • Fauna: Anemones, moray eels, conger eels, octopus, nudibranchs, fish moon, banks, hamstrings, mojarras, tembladeras, lobsters, castanets, etc,
  • For the depth, it is recommended that the use of nitrox to extend the time in the background.

Clear 10

Area with a sandy bottom, ideal for baptisms and courses.

Cuca 24

Sunken ship -24 meters
  • Immersion outside the marine reserve Island of Tabarca.
  • Medium level.
  • Dive into the remains of a sunken ship of wood divided into two parts united by a cape, over a sandy bottom.
  • Depth -24 meters.
  • Fauna: Anemones, moray eels, conger eels, octopus, nudibranchs, fish moon, castanets, etc,
  • For the depth, it is recommended that the use of nitrox to extend the time in the background.

Escull Negre – Booking Inside Tabarca

Immersion was located within the marine reserve Island of Tabarca, inland waters.
  • Basic level.
  • The descent is made from the buoy mooring.
  • The name of the dive is due to be made around an islet called in the same way “Escull Negre”. The dive takes place around the island, observing the fauna and flora in the walls, as in the rocks of the fund Is many holes in the rock, so it is recommended the use of a flashlight.ç

The Nao – Reserve Outside Tabarca

Immersion was located within the marine reserve Island of Tabarca, outer waters.
  • Basic level.
  • Immersion about various rock formations that are born of the fund up to two meters, where there are two arches rocky very nice, on the background of sand and posidonia.
  • Depth of -2 to -13 metres.
  • Fauna: Different types of gorgonians, yellow and white anemones, Escórporas, groupers, moray eels, octopus, nudibranchs, banks, hamstrings, salps, breams, sea bass, mullet, castanets, ears of sea, found, etc

Mardinian

Immersion outside the marine reserve Island of Tabarca.
  • On a technical level.
  • Dive to the sunken ship “Mardinian”, ship English steel, of almost 100 meters in length sunk in 1917, is located in a position of navigation, on the background of sand of fine sediment.
  • Depth of cover from -42 meters to the bottom to -56 meters.
  • Fauna: Anemones, gorgonian, conger eels, nudibranchs, moon fish, fish, three tails, dentex, castanets, groupers, etc

Merolandia 24 – Booking Outside Of Tabarca

Immersion was located within the marine reserve Island of Tabarca, outer waters.
  • Medium level.
  • The dive consists of visiting an extension of rock formations that give rise to caves and cavities, highlighting a rock of great extension that comes out of the bottom and goes up you have to -20 m depth; on the background of sand and posidonia.
  • Depth of -20 to -25 meters.

Merolandia 28 – Booking Outside Of Tabarca

Immersion was located within the marine reserve Island of Tabarca, outer waters.
  • Advanced level.
  • The descent is made from the place of the anchor.
  • The dive consists of visiting an extension of rock formations that give rise to caves and hollows, on a background of sand and posidonia.
  • Depth of -26 to -30 meters.
  • Fauna: Different types of gorgonians white anemones, a great amount of groupers of large dimensions, pollack, escórporas, moray eels, conger eels, octopus, nudibranchs, banks skewers, salps, hamstrings, mojarras, castanets, cigarrones, sea eagles, etc

Wreck 19

Sunken ship -19 meters
  • Immersion outside the marine reserve Island of Tabarca. -Basic level.
  • The interesting part it is a cut out of rock, ranging from -12 to -19 meters, and in the deep part are the remains of a sunken ship, on the background of sand, rock and posidonia.
  • To both sides of the barrier of stone is a large meadow of posidonia ocean, which is home to a lot of nácaras.
  • Fauna: Different types of gorgonians white anemones, Escórporas, pollack, moray eels, octopus, nudibranchs, banks of salps, mojarras, obladas, smooth, castanets, found, abalone, etc
  • Flora: Posidonia.

Wreck Conger -30

3 sunken ships -30 meters
  • Immersion outside the marine reserve Island of Tabarca.
  • Advanced level.
  • Dive into the remains of three sunken ships of wood and a rocky area, on a background of sand.
  • Depth of 30 meters.
  • Fauna: Anemones, moray eels, conger eels, octopus, nudibranchs, fish moon, banks skewers, hamstrings, mojarras, tembladeras, castanets, etc,
  • For the depth, it is recommended that the use of nitrox to extend the time in the background.

Tabarca Reef

Immersion outside the marine reserve Island of Tabarca.
  • Basic level.
  • Dive around a bar of stone that ranges from –Depth of 10 -14 meters.
  • The interesting part it is a barrier of rock that was about 200 meters long and 25-30 meters wide, which starts at -15 meters and reaches up to 10 meters deep.
  • To both sides of the barrier of stone is a large meadow of posidonia ocean, which is home to a lot of nácaras.
  • Fauna: Different types of gorgonians white anemones, Escórporas, groupers, moray eels, octopus, nudibranchs, banks skewers, salps, mojarras, obladas, smooth, castanets, found, abalone, etc
  • Flora: Posidonia.

Ville de Verdun

Immersion outside the marine reserve Island of Tabarca.
  • On a technical level.
  • Dive to the sunken ship “Ville de Verdun”, ship English steel, of almost 100 meters in length sunk in 1918, is located in a side position, on a background of sand of fine sediment.
  • Depth of -48 meters to -56 meters.
  • Fauna: sea Anemones and different sea fans, conger eels, nudibranchs, moon fish, fish, three tails, dentex, castanets, groupers, etc

DIVES OUTSIDE THE RESERVE

We dive for the surroundings of the Island of Tabarca, where we have several points of immersion, with depths ranging from -6 to -56 meters of depth. Depending on your level we will do a dive or another, bearing in mind that to be able to do the dives to more of -40 metres of depth, it will require titration technique.
In these deeper dives, we have two bbows sunk in the First World War. These dives represent a surcharge on the price of the dip standard.
